SpiceJet Staff Arrested: Clash at Jaipur Airport

A SpiceJet employee, Anuradha Rani, was arrested for slapping a CISF officer at Jaipur Airport. The incident stemmed from an argument over security screening. The airline alleges sexual harassment, while CISF officials deny provocation. Both sides have lodged complaints, and an inquiry is underway.

A SpiceJet staffer, Anuradha Rani, was taken into custody on Thursday, accused of slapping a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer during an altercation over security screening procedures, police confirmed. The contentious episode was described by the airline as a 'serious case of sexual harassment.' A CCTV clip captured the CISF officer engaging with the woman, who suddenly advanced towards him and delivered a slap.

Following the incident, a woman constable escorted Rani away. Police have registered an assault charge against Rani based on a complaint from Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad. Concurrently, SpiceJet has initiated “immediate legal action” and approached local law enforcement.

The airline's statement claimed their employee was subjected to inappropriate language, including an invitation from the CISF officer to visit his home after duty hours. Authorities said a detailed investigation is being conducted, scrutinizing the CCTV footage which allegedly depicts Rani's unprovoked action. Both parties have lodged complaints, and a high-ranking CISF official will review the situation on the ground on Friday.
