Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra, along with several other party leaders, was detained on Friday while en route to Mysuru to stage a protest against alleged fraudulent land allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). These allotments reportedly involved plots granted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife.

The BJP leaders aimed to attend a protest rally in Mysuru, the Chief Minister's home district, and lay siege to the MUDA office. Vijayendra and his supporters were intercepted near Kengeri on the Mysuru Road and taken away by bus, despite their resistance and slogan-shouting against the government.

In his remarks, Vijayendra accused the Congress government of oppression and vowed that BJP workers from across the state would continue the protest. He demanded that sites be allocated to the poor, the allegedly illegal distributions be revoked, a CBI probe into the "scam," and the resignation of Siddaramaiah, claiming the allegations target the Chief Minister and his family. Siddaramaiah, however, has denied the accusations, calling them a conspiracy due to his background and political success.
