The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a charge sheet against two men, including a Libya-based ISIS terrorist, for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to further an anti-India agenda.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Zoheb Khan and Libya-based Mohammed Shoeb Khan, have been linked to a plot to recruit vulnerable youth to execute terror attacks at sensitive locations throughout India, the NIA stated.
Investigations have revealed the duo's allegiance to the self-proclaimed ISIS Khalifa and active roles in developing a website designed to attract youth to ISIS by promoting extremist ideologies.
The NIA disclosed that they had established a WhatsApp group involving more than 50 youths from Aurangabad to radicalize and recruit them for ISIS activities. The group, led by Zoheb Khan, shared instructions on manufacturing explosives and IEDs, and outlined plans for coordinated terror attacks in India.
The NIA's actions aim to dismantle the ISIS network in India, ensuring national safety and countering any threats to India's secular and democratic fabric, the agency said.
