Former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Faces Attempted Murder Charges

An 'attempt to murder' case has been registered against former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and several officials following a complaint by TDP MLA K Raghurama Krishna Raju. The case dates back to Raju's 2021 arrest, alleging police brutality and custodial torture.

An 'attempt to murder' case has been registered against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with two senior IPS officers and two retired officials, as per a complaint by TDP MLA K Raghurama Krishna Raju.

Raju, a former YSRCP Lok Sabha MP, alleged that he was subjected to custodial torture following his 2021 arrest. He claims senior officials plotted a criminal conspiracy against him, leading to his arrest during the Covid-19 second wave.

The police have booked the accused under multiple IPC sections and have taken legal opinions before proceeding with the case.
