Hamas has refuted Israel's claim that an airstrike targeting Gaza on Saturday was aimed at its leaders. In a statement, Hamas asserted that such claims by Israel have previously been proven false.
The airstrike, which took place in Khan Younis, led to the deaths of at least 71 Palestinians and injuries to 289 others, according to the enclave's health ministry.
Israel's military stated they were aiming to kill Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif in the operation.
