Imran Khan Acquitted in Un-Islamic Marriage Case, Re-Arrested in May 9 Riots
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were acquitted in the un-Islamic marriage case, the only case keeping him behind bars. However, shortly after the acquittal, Khan was re-arrested in connection to the May 9 riots. The PTI has denounced the arrests as an attempt to prolong Khan's imprisonment.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were acquitted on Saturday in the un-Islamic marriage case, which had been the sole reason for Khan's imprisonment since last August.
However, within an hour of the acquittal, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore approved Khan's re-arrest in three cases related to the May 9 riots, which followed his earlier detention in an alleged corruption case.
The PTI party has called the latest arrest a 'gimmick to keep the illegal imprisonment prolonged,' emphasizing that previous charges against Khan were primarily based on assumptions.
