City PhD Scholar Arrested for Multi-Lakh Cyber Fraud

A PhD scholar, Lakku Akhileshwar Reddy, was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly defrauding a Delhi man of Rs 20 lakh through an online task scheme. Reddy, who studies Business Management and operates a flex printing business, lured the victim via Telegram. The police are searching for another accomplice, Shiva.

A Hyderabad-based PhD scholar, Lakku Akhileshwar Reddy, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a Delhi man of approximately Rs 20 lakh, authorities revealed on Sunday.

Reddy, a Business Management student who also runs a flex printing business, allegedly lured victim Akshay Kumar Singh through a Telegram message promoting a part-time job that involved completing online tasks, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh.

Following the victim's compliance and substantial financial investment, Reddy disappeared, prompting the police to trace his activities back to Hyderabad. Subsequently, Reddy was apprehended, and another suspect named Shiva is currently being pursued.
