Security forces conducted extensive search operations in Jammu, Doda, and Reasi districts following reports of suspicious movements, officials confirmed. The joint effort by police and CRPF personnel began early Monday in locations like Lower Gharota, Thathi, and the Akhnoor sector after residents reported three individuals in combat attire. Despite the thorough search lasting over two hours, authorities found nothing suspicious.
In Doda district's Koti forest area, police and Army personnel launched a cordon and search operation at 9.30 am, suspecting terrorist presence. Although the combing operation continues, no contact with any terrorists has been confirmed so far. Similar searches were conducted in the Reasi district at locations including Rumbal Nallah Kothian, Pouni, and Dera Babbar.
Recently, the Jammu region has witnessed a rise in terror activities, particularly in border districts such as Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, and Reasi. Incidents, including attacks on an IAF convoy and a pilgrim bus, as well as the killing of soldiers in Kathua, underline the escalating threat.
