The Rajasthan government is resolute in providing the full spectrum of welfare benefits to labourers, as indicated by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara on Tuesday.

During the Question Hour in the Assembly, Godara, representing the labour minister, responded to supplementary inquiries. He emphasized that applications pending under workers' welfare schemes are being expedited on a priority basis.

Detailing the financial mismanagement by the previous government, Godara revealed that merely 53% of the labour cess collected over the past five years was allocated to welfare efforts. Of the Rs 2,537 crore accrued, only Rs 1,356 crore was invested in labour schemes, leaving a significant portion unused. He assured strict measures against negligent officials involved in physical verification lapses under the Shubh Shakti Yojana in Nagaur.
