Pakistan Urges Action Over Afghanistan-Based Militant Attacks

Pakistan's foreign ministry summoned the Taliban's deputy head of mission on Wednesday, urging immediate action against Afghanistan-based militant groups linked to a recent deadly attack on a Pakistani military base.

The attack on the base in Bannu, northwestern Pakistan, was carried out by ramming an explosives-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall, killing eight members of Pakistan's security forces. The Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, which operates from Afghanistan, claimed responsibility.

Rising cross-border attacks have strained Pakistan-Taliban relations, with Pakistan continuously raising the issue to no avail. The Taliban has denied accusations of harboring militants. Pakistan's foreign office emphasized serious concerns over these terrorist outfits and called for robust action to prevent future attacks.
