The Central Administrative Tribunal's Jammu Bench has fined a former IAS officer Rs 1 lakh for lodging a 'mischievous and frivolous' complaint against the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and other senior officials.
The bench, led by judicial member Rajinder Dogra, ruled on July 16 that Kumar Ranchhodbhai Parmar's application was primarily aimed at harassing Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other top bureaucrats.
Despite dealing with a service-related issue, Parmar named individual authorities, a move the Tribunal found inappropriate and dismissed the plea, ordering the fine to deter future frivolous petitions. Parmar's plea sought upgrades and the expunction of adverse remarks in his performance appraisals.
