Ex-Serviceman Allegedly Murders Six Over Land Dispute

An ex-serviceman, Bhushan Kumar, allegedly killed six family members over a land dispute in Naraingarh, including his mother, nephew, and two nieces. Following the murders, he attempted to burn their bodies. The incident occurred on Sunday night in Rator village, and police are investigating the case.

An ex-serviceman allegedly hacked to death six members of his family, including his mother, a nephew, and two nieces, in Naraingarh here over a land dispute, police said on Monday.

After committing the crime, the accused tried to burn the bodies in his house, according to authorities.

The incident took place in Rator village of Naraingarh on Sunday night. A seriously injured niece later succumbed to her injuries at PGIMER Chandigarh, police reported. Retired soldier Bhushan Kumar allegedly killed the family members and injured his father with an axe while they were asleep, according to the initial investigation. An alleged land dispute between Kumar and his brother appears to have sparked the violence.

Victims include Kumar's mother Saroopi Devi (65), brother Harish Kumar (35), sister-in-law Sonia (32), and their three children: Pari (7), Yashika (5), and Mayank (6 months). Kumar's father, Om Prakash, tried to stop the carnage but was seriously injured. However, he managed to alert the neighbors.

Prakash is currently receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital in Naraingarh. SHO Naraingarh, Inspector Rampal, confirmed that six people have died in the incident. Police teams are actively searching for the accused who fled the scene after allegedly committing the murders.

Authorities are conducting raids in various locations and have questioned two individuals close to the accused. Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Resident Medical Officer of Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital, said five partially burnt bodies were brought in Monday morning, all showing wound injuries. Postmortem examinations are being carried out.
