Delhi Court Grants Bail to Minister Atishi in Defamation Case

A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to minister Atishi in a defamation case initiated by BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor. The case pertains to Atishi's allegations that the BJP tried to bribe AAP MLAs to overthrow the Arvind Kejriwal government.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tanya Bamniyal provided Atishi relief on a bail bond of Rs 20,000 and one surety of the same amount, after her court appearance following a summons.
The court will reconvene on August 8 to scrutinize documents and hear arguments regarding the framing of charges. Previously, the judge had declined to summon Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the defamation case.
