Hezbollah's Surveillance Reach into Israel Exposed by Drone Video
Hezbollah released a drone video showing Israeli military facilities at Ramat David airbase. This marks the third video in a series aimed at showcasing the group's surveillance capabilities. The video features key military infrastructure and comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Lebanese armed group Hezbollah broadcast a drone video on Wednesday, purportedly showing air defense facilities, planes, and fuel storage units at Israel's Ramat David airbase, located nearly 50km into Israeli territory.
This release is the third in a series of videos by Hezbollah, intended to demonstrate the extent of their surveillance reach into Israel. Previous videos highlighted the Israeli port city of Haifa and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. An Israeli military spokesman stated on X that the video was taken by a surveillance drone and did not impact the airbase's operations.
The latest video, over eight minutes in length, includes labels identifying military infrastructure, such as the short-range Iron Dome air defense system. The footage, mostly captured on Tuesday, also features nighttime shots and other images purportedly taken earlier in July, described as merely some of the drone's captures. The videos come amid mounting tensions over Israel's conflict with Hamas in Gaza and the frequent cross-border exchanges of fire with Lebanon.
Hezbollah has attempted to evade high-tech Israeli surveillance using low-tech methods while deploying its own drones for monitoring and attacking Israeli military targets.
