On Friday, the Rajya Sabha became a battleground as Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar rejected requests from ruling party members to suspend the scheduled business for a discussion on corruption in Karnataka.
The rejection of the notices under Rule 267 led to protests from Treasury members, while Opposition Congress MPs objected to Dhankhar allowing BJP's Iranna Kadadi to raise the issue during the Zero Hour.
Despite disruptions and objections from Congress members, Dhanakar maintained his stand, allowing Kadadi to speak on the matter, highlighting the alleged corruption within the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
