The Delhi High Court has refused to grant bail to a man accused of murdering a woman's husband by pushing him in front of a moving train, calling the crime brutal.
Justice Subramonium Prasad emphasized the seriousness of the crime, noting that the petitioner faces life imprisonment or even the death penalty if convicted. Despite being in custody since 2019, substantial progress has been made in the trial, with most witnesses already examined.
The prosecution alleges that the man lured the victim to a deserted road, hit him with a brick, and then pushed him in front of a passing train. The accused allegedly informed the victim's family and tried to disguise the murder as an accident. The court found strong evidence pointing to the man's guilt.
