The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia's bail pleas in corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, has been in custody for 16 months. He contends the trial against him has made no progress since October last year.
A bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan will hear Sisodia's pleas, informed the Supreme Court's July 29 cause list. Previously, the apex court had sought responses from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Sisodia, arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023, faces allegations of irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22 formulation. The ED later arrested him in a money laundering case on March 9 last year.
In addition to his bail pleas, Sisodia has filed an application seeking the revival of his petitions linked to the excise policy corruption and money laundering cases.
