Escalating Conflict: Israeli Forces Advance Deeper into Gaza

Israeli tanks have advanced deeper into Gaza, with recent military strikes killing 66 Palestinians in the last 24 hours. The assault caused mass evacuations, as airstrikes targeted various areas, including Khan Younis, Al-Mawasi, and Gaza City. Ceasefire talks are underway involving international diplomats.

Israeli forces intensified their incursion into the Gaza Strip’s southern region on Sunday, engaging in fierce combat with Hamas-led militants. Gaza health officials reported 66 Palestinian deaths due to Israeli military strikes over the past 24 hours.

Israeli tanks pressed deeper into Al-Karara, Al-Zanna, and Bani Suhaila near Khan Younis. The escalating conflict has forced thousands to flee to overcrowded areas in Al-Mawasi and Deir Al-Balah. On Sunday, airstrikes killed 15 Palestinians in Khan Younis, with an additional 10 fatalities from an airstrike on a house in the city center.

Amidst ongoing violence, CIA Director William Burns is set to meet with Israeli, Egyptian, and Qatari counterparts in Rome to negotiate a ceasefire. This comes as Israel vows to strike back at Hezbollah following a rocket attack in Golan Heights, amid fears of a broader conflict.
