Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday sharply criticized the BRS for taking legal action against an inquiry panel formed to investigate alleged irregularities in the power sector during the previous regime. He accused the BRS leaders of trying to evade the probe to cover up their corrupt activities.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Reddy pointed out that the BRS leaders feared that the investigation would unveil their misdeeds. A contentious exchange ensued between the ruling Congress and BRS member G Jagadish Reddy, with debates centering on the power sector's past dealings.
The Chief Minister revealed that the state government initiated the inquiry following requests from a BRS member. Despite attempts to halt the probe through the high court and Supreme Court, the judiciary has upheld the investigation's validity. Revanth Reddy faired the discussion in light of the need for transparency and justice.
