Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai expressed sorrow over the 133 recovered bodies, noting the potential for more casualties. He emphasized that rescue operations began promptly with support from the Centre.
Rai announced the immediate disbursement of Rs 145 crore from the state disaster response fund to Kerala, highlighting the PM's direct involvement in coordinating relief efforts. Minister George Kurien has been on-site, and collaboration includes the NDRF, Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.
