The West Bengal government on Wednesday executed a series of administrative reshuffles, an official order revealed.

IAS officer Manish Jain has been appointed as the principal secretary of the North Bengal Development Department, while IAS officer Vijay Bharti takes charge as the principal secretary of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA).

Previously serving as the principal secretary of the School Education Department and the Higher Education Department, Jain was also the State Editor of West Bengal District Gazetteers. IAS officer Binod Kumar has been appointed to these roles. Kumar, who formerly served as the principal secretary of the Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department, is replaced by IAS officer Ghulam Ali, the current secretary of the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department. Ali will also maintain his role as the divisional commissioner of the Malda Division.

In another move, PB Salim, the secretary of the Monitoring and Coordination of the Chief Minister's Office and chairman & MD of the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL), is given the additional charge of the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department.
