Delhi Court Orders Community Service for Obscene Messages Convict
The Delhi High Court has mandated a man to perform three months of community service in a hospital, orphanage, and old-age home after quashing an FIR against him for allegedly sending obscene messages to a woman. The court also ordered him to plant 50 trees and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000.

The Delhi High Court has ordered a man to engage in community service at various institutions for three months after quashing an FIR regarding obscene messages sent to a woman. The court noted that the man must atone for his actions, thus also imposing a Rs 25,000 fine on him.
Besides the financial penalty, Justice Subramonium Prasad instructed the man to plant and nurture 50 trees in his locality, with follow-up oversight from the investigating officer. Planting the trees and submitting a compliance report are mandatory.
The man is instructed to perform community service at Jyotiba Phule Old Age Home for Senior Citizens, LNJP Hospital, and Udayan Care-Orphanage at Mayur Vihar for one month each. Any misbehavior or absenteeism will be reported and could lead to further legal proceedings.
