Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday praised the Supreme Court's judgment permitting states to create sub-classifications within Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for quota allocations. He lauded his party, the TDP, for initiating this move back in 1996 with the formation of the Justice Ramachandra Raju Commission.
Naidu stressed that justice must reach all societal sections and that social justice is a core TDP philosophy. He asserted that sub-classification will aid in reaching out to the poorest sections of society. In a public address, he urged Dalits to remain united for their social and financial empowerment.
During an interaction with the water users association of Sunnipenta in Nandyal district, Naidu committed to transforming Andhra Pradesh into the leading state in India. He also pledged to promote Srisailam as a divine center and partook in the distribution of welfare pensions at Madakasira in Sri Sathyasai district.
