Kashmir Police Intensifies Security Measures Ahead of Independence Day

Kashmir's top police official, V K Birdi, held a key security review meeting, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance to ensure a peaceful Independence Day celebration in the Valley.
Attended by senior officers from the Central Reserve Police Force, Intelligence Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir Central Investigation Department, and traffic police, the meeting focused on enhancing security measures and monitoring social media for any anti-national activities.
Inspector General Birdi urged the officers to bolster surveillance, especially along national highways and sensitive areas, and discussed recent security developments in the region, directing increased cordon-and-search operations.
