A 61-year-old retired IRS officer was injured in a knife attack by an alleged burglar at his Vasant Kunj house in South Delhi early Sunday, police reported.

Abhay Kumar Singh and his wife, Anupama, sustained injuries and were rushed to AIIMS for treatment; they were later discharged.

Authorities have arrested Jitender, 38, in connection with the crime. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Rohit Meena disclosed that the incident was reported at Vasant Kunj South Police Station around 1.15 am. Singh was awakened by a noise and discovered the intruder, leading to a confrontation that resulted in knife wounds.
