Sub-Inspector in Uttar Pradesh Caught Red-Handed Accepting Rs 10,000 Bribe

The Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO) of Uttar Pradesh Police apprehended sub-inspector Haider Ali for accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe at Tezi Bazar police station in Jaunpur. Ali had demanded the bribe from Ashutosh Yadav to release his impounded JCB machine. An FIR has been lodged at Badlapur police station.

The Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday apprehended sub-inspector Haider Ali while he was accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe at Tezi Bazar police station in Jaunpur, officials confirmed.

Around 1 pm, ACO inspectors nabbed Ali near the Tezi Bazar canal. According to ACO Inspector Neeraj Singh, Ali was caught red-handed accepting the bribe from Ashutosh Yadav, a resident of Baliyapur village who operates a JCB machine.

Five days prior, Yadav's JCB machine had been impounded by the police. Ali demanded Rs 10,000 from Yadav to release the machine, threatening him with imprisonment if the bribe was not paid. Feeling threatened, Yadav reached out to the ACO, which led to a plan that culminated in Ali's arrest. An FIR has been filed against Ali at Badlapur police station.
