Delhi Police Deploys AI-Powered Security Measures for Independence Day

Delhi Police has implemented high-tech AI-based facial recognition CCTV cameras to bolster security for Independence Day. The cameras, equipped with pan-tilt-zoom features, will monitor key areas, especially the Red Fort. Along with physical security measures, anti-drone systems and identity verification apps will be used to ensure foolproof protection.

Delhi Police has upgraded its security apparatus with the acquisition of 700 AI-powered facial recognition CCTV cameras to enhance security arrangements for Independence Day celebrations, officials confirmed on Thursday.

These advanced cameras will be installed in key locations, especially around the north and central districts of the city, including the Red Fort—where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver his speech—to monitor VVIP movements and detect suspicious activities.

In addition to the cameras, over 10,000 security personnel, anti-drone systems, and a smartphone-based application for verifying attendees' identities will be employed. The surrounding area will also be designated a 'no kite flying zone,' ensuring comprehensive security coverage.
