A heart-wrenching accident in Siddharthnagar district claimed the lives of a woman and her three-year-old daughter after a speeding bus collided with their motorcycle near Khira Mandi, authorities reported on Friday.
Prateek Giri of Tarhar village, under Trilokpur Police Station, was riding the motorcycle with his 31-year-old sister Kiran Giri and his young niece Siddhi when the tragic incident occurred. According to DSP Shohratgarh Sarvesh Singh, the speeding bus hit their bike and the driver immediately fled the scene, leaving the woman and child dead. Miraculously, Prateek survived the fatal crash.
Police promptly arrived at the location, initiated a preliminary investigation, and sent the bodies for autopsy. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the bus driver. District Magistrate Raja Ganpati R has assured that necessary support will be provided to the grieving family.
