Youth Arrested for Alleged Rape in Jharkhand's Ramgarh District

In a troubling incident, police in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district have apprehended a youth for allegedly raping a minor girl, according to local officials.

Additionally, authorities have detained three other individuals accused of attempting to rape two other girls in the district's Barakana area, reported Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar on Saturday.

The girls, who were identified as minor ragpickers, were collecting scrap near the boundary wall of the Central Coalfields Limited workshop on July 21. The four youths allegedly lured them by promising more scrap beyond the boundary wall, leading to the heinous act. An FIR has been lodged, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by SDPO (Ramgarh) Birendra Kumar Ram promptly arrested the accused.
