Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed frustrations on Tuesday, arguing that the central bank's restrictive monetary policy poses challenges for achieving high economic growth.
Speaking to reporters, Tusk specifically pointed to Central Bank Governor Adam Glapinski's policies. He criticized the measures for hindering Poland's goal of attaining one of Europe's highest growth rates.
The National Bank of Poland has maintained its principal interest rate at 5.75% since October 2023, a decision Tusk believes is counterproductive.
