A local court has denied bail to Ruby, an HIV-positive woman implicated in a 2018 acid attack case involving her brother. The complainant, Neelam, accused Ruby and others of attempting to strangulate her and pouring acid, resulting in severe injuries and loss of sight in one eye.

The court observed that Ruby, who had absconded for six years, did not claim she was deprived of proper medical treatment in jail. Additional Sessions Judge Dhirendra Rana highlighted the complainant's immediate report and subsequent medical examination, affirming Ruby's significant role in the incident.

The court also considered submissions regarding Ruby’s past conduct and the continued absconding of three other co-accused. Despite Ruby's counter-claims, the court emphasized the gravity of the injuries and denied her bail.
