The decision was made in a full court meeting chaired by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud. The group includes 10 women, marking a significant inclusion of female legal professionals.
Previously, the apex court had designated 56 lawyers as senior advocates in January. Advocates-on-record are specially certified to file cases in the Supreme Court, a qualification governed by rules framed under Article 145 of the Constitution.
