International Duo Nabbed in Nepal's High-Stakes Drug Bust
A 28-year-old Indian woman and a Tanzanian man were arrested in Nepal for smuggling narcotic drugs. Authorities seized 1.24 kg of cocaine, worth approximately NRs 43.7 million, hidden inside 72 capsules. The Tanzanian suspect had swallowed the drugs in Ethiopia, while the Indian accomplice was about to collect them.

A 28-year-old Indian woman and a Tanzanian national were apprehended in Nepal on Wednesday for their involvement in a narcotics smuggling operation. Authorities seized 1.24 kg of cocaine hidden inside capsules from the suspects.
The drugs, estimated to be worth around NRs 43.7 million in the black market, were concealed by the Tanzanian man who ingested the capsules in Ethiopia before traveling to Nepal. He checked into a hotel in the tourist district of Thamel, where he met with the Indian woman who was set to collect the contraband.
The duo was caught red-handed by the Nepal Police's Narcotic Drugs Control Bureau with 72 capsules of cocaine. Following a tip-off, the police had been monitoring the Tanzanian's movements since his arrival from Ethiopia. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects under the Narcotic Drugs Control Act.
