Union Home Ministry Commits Security for J&K Assembly Elections

The Union Home Ministry has assured the Election Commission of providing sufficient security personnel for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla confirmed this during a meeting with election commissioners. The elections will be the first since the abrogation of Article 370 and subsequent delimitation.

The Union Home Ministry has conveyed its readiness to supply adequate security personnel for the forthcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, according to sources.

This assurance came from Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla in a recent meeting with the Election Commission (EC) held in New Delhi.

The Supreme Court had directed the EC to conduct these elections by September 30, a mandate taken seriously by both the poll panel and the Home Ministry.
