Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Tuesday that an investigation headed by a female IPS officer has been initiated into allegations of abuse involving two school girls in Badlapur, Thane district.
Fadnavis informed reporters that Inspector General Arti Singh would lead the inquiry, with the state government pushing to expedite the process. "We aim to file the chargesheet promptly and take this matter to a fast-track court for swift justice," he stated.
The Deputy Chief Minister expressed firm intentions for the police department to ensure those responsible for such barbaric acts face immediate consequences. Additionally, he criticized Nationalist Congress Party's Supriya Sule and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for allegedly turning the incident into a political opportunity. "It's disheartening to see political benefits being sought from such sensitive issues," Fadnavis remarked, urging Thackeray to approach the matter with statesmanship rather than political tactics.
