Multiple adjournments, heavy sloganeering, and the suspension of four BJP councillors characterized a high-voltage drama at the MCD House on Wednesday, which was thrown into chaos shortly after proceedings began.
As pandemonium broke out inside, residents of Bhalswa, who had been served evacuation notices for a demolition drive, protested outside the MCD House against the civic body's move.
Despite the tumult, Mayor Shelly Oberoi approved several proposals, including a private member bill to convert Bhalswa Dairy colony into a residential area, although other proposals were postponed amid the noise.
