Hezbollah-Israel Conflict Escalates With Massive Rocket Exchanges

Three deaths were confirmed in Lebanon, while Israel reported no casualties. Hezbollah signaled it would not launch further strikes for now, and Israel’s foreign minister reiterated that they are not seeking a full-scale war. The tension comes amidst ongoing negotiations in Cairo to halt the fighting in Gaza.

The rocket barrage and airstrikes have raised fears of a regional conflict involving Iran and the United States, given their alliances with Hezbollah and Israel respectively. Expectations of an escalation have been high since an Israeli airstrike in the Golan Heights killed 12 youths and Israel assassinated a senior Hezbollah commander, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut last month.
