Singapore's Indian-origin Leader of the Opposition, Pritam Singh, has filed a request to have his legal case heard in the High Court instead of the State Courts.
Singh, 48, is facing two charges of lying to a parliamentary committee investigating former MP Raeesah Khan's lying controversy. Khan has already resigned from Parliament.
Singh's lawyers argue that the case holds significant public interest, referencing the recent case of former transport minister S. Iswaran, which will also be heard in the High Court.
