In a shocking incident, police in Madhya Pradesh have apprehended two individuals for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old tribal girl in Tikamgarh district. According to officials, the crime occurred in Pacher village under the Khargapur police station jurisdiction on Independence Day.
The case only came to light when the victim and her family met the visiting minister, Krishna Gaur. The accused, identified as Salim Khan and Lalu Khan, have been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, confirmed Superintendent of Police Rohit Kashwani.
The girl's father works as a laborer in Delhi, while her mother looks after the family. A few days after the assault, the girl fell ill and disclosed the crime to her family. An investigation is ongoing to determine why the report was delayed, and if any negligence from authorities occurred.
