BP Gopalika Appointed to Key Roles Post-Retirement by West Bengal Government
BP Gopalika, who retired as West Bengal's chief secretary, has been appointed chairman of the West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation and Managing Director of the state Highway Development Corporation. Additionally, Gopalika will serve as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Project Monitoring for three years.

In a significant move, the West Bengal government has appointed BP Gopalika, who retired last week as the chief secretary, to several prominent roles. He will serve as the chairman of the West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBIIDC) and the Managing Director of the state Highway Development Corporation, according to an official announcement.
Furthermore, Gopalika has been given an additional responsibility as the Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Project Monitoring for a three-year term, as per an official order.
Gopalika, a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, retired on August 31 after receiving a three-month extension beyond his original May 31 retirement date. The pay and terms of his new appointments will be decided in consultation with the finance department.
