Police Nab Three Involved in Jewellery Heist After Shootout

In a dramatic turn of events, three men were apprehended early Tuesday after a shootout with police, resulting in injuries to both the suspects and a constable, according to officials.
The suspects, identified as Sachin Singh, Pushpendra, and Tribhuvan, are alleged to have looted over Rs 1.5 crore from a jewellery shop on August 28.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team cornered the men at 3.30 am, leading to an exchange of gunfire. The suspects were injured in the legs during the shootout and subsequently arrested, while constable Shailesh Rajbhar also sustained a leg injury, said Superintendent of Police Somen Barma.
The heist involved five men on two motorcycles who arrived at Bharatji Soni's showroom and executed the robbery within ten minutes before fleeing towards the Prayagraj highway, police said.
