Russia's Forces Capture Village in Donetsk Region

Russia's Defence Ministry announced that its forces have taken control of the village of Kalynove in Ukraine's Donetsk region. The village, located southeast of the major logistics hub Pokrovsk, had a population of around 200 people according to the 2001 Ukrainian census.

Russia's Defence Ministry announced in a Telegram briefing on Saturday that its forces have seized the village of Kalynove in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region.

Situated southeast of Pokrovsk, an important Ukrainian logistics hub, Kalynove's capture marks a significant step in Russia's accelerating advance within the industrialised Donbas area.

According to Ukraine's 2001 census, Kalynove had a population of approximately 200 people.
