A grisly discovery was made on the Delhi-Varanasi national highway when a semi-naked body of a 40-year-old woman with a partially ruptured head was found. Police suspect foul play and have launched an investigation.
The body was discovered on Wednesday morning by a passerby, who alerted the authorities and reported that stray dogs had been nibbling at it. Initial suspicions suggest the woman could have been raped and murdered before her body was dumped on the highway, or she might have died in a road accident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ravindra Kumar revealed that forensic experts collected crucial evidence, including teeth and bone fragments. CCTV footage captured the woman walking alone near the scene before her body was found, leading officers to her residence in Kanpur. The autopsy, supervised by a panel of doctors, will determine the exact cause of death.
