Pakistani authorities brought a nurse named Adeela Baloch before state-run media on Wednesday to address her alleged involvement in a suicide bombing attempt.
The government-organized interview took place in Balochistan province, long troubled by insurgent and militant activities. Baloch identified herself as an employee of a government hospital in Turbat and claimed she had been misled by terrorists to plan a suicide attack, though she was arrested before executing it.
The Associated Press could not confirm her claims, and officials indicated she would not be prosecuted since the attack did not happen. Separately, a roadside bomb targeting police injured 12 people in Quetta earlier in the day.
