Israel has dismissed international proposals for a ceasefire with Hezbollah, even as global allies, including the United States, call for an immediate three-week halt to fighting to facilitate diplomatic efforts and prevent a wider war. Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced, "There will be no ceasefire in the north. We will continue to fight against the Hezbollah terrorist organization with all our strength until victory."

This stance has crushed hopes for a quick resolution, especially after Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed optimism about reaching a ceasefire in Lebanon where massive displacements have occurred. World leaders are increasingly worried that the conflict—paralleling the war in Gaza—is accelerating uncontrollably.
