The Lebanese government is poised to enforce a UN resolution targeting Hezbollah's military presence south of the Litani River, according to caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
Prime Minister Mikati announced Lebanon's readiness to enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and deploy the army south of the river, approximately 30 km from the southern border. Along with House Speaker Nabih Berri, Mikati emphasized that electing a new president to fill a nearly two-year vacancy would follow a ceasefire.
