The incident occurred on September 27, and the accused was arrested on Monday, stated Manisha Pandey, Bagicha Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP).

The victim's parents began searching for her with the accused also pretending to assist. Upon her return, she recounted the assault in sign language, leading to the accused’s immediate escape, though he was later apprehended. He has been charged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
