The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Assam is taking a decisive step towards ensuring the welfare of children by earmarking 1% of its 2024-25 budget for the enhancement of a child-friendly environment, announced Council Chief Pramod Boro on Tuesday.

During a focused consultation and review meeting titled 'child-friendly BTR', Boro highlighted significant ongoing efforts within the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to comprehensive child welfare across the area.

The session delved into key topics such as the media's role in fighting child violence, applying the Mission Vatsalya scheme effectively, eradicating child labor, and crafting child-centric policies. Strategies included forming welfare committees and appointing protection officers, highlighting collaboration with UNICEF and state child rights bodies.
