The process of recruiting 935 new police constables in Nagaland will begin soon, announced Director General of Police Rupin Sharma. This follows a recent Gauhati High Court ruling which nullified the previous appointments for lacking official advertisements.

Speaking with reporters, Sharma revealed the court's directive for re-advertising the positions to ensure fair recruitment practices. Affected individuals can seek legal recourse by filing appeals or petitions in various judicial platforms.

The Gauhati High Court's September ruling highlighted flaws in the recruitment process conducted between January 2018 and October 2019. The court ordered the issuance of advertisements as per law, aiming for fresh selections to be finalized within six months.
