In a significant operation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), two officials from the government medical college in Bhadradri Kothagudem District, Telangana, were caught red-handed on Tuesday for allegedly accepting a bribe.
According to the ACB release, the Administrative Officer and Junior Assistant had demanded Rs 7 lakh and accepted an initial payment of Rs 3 lakh from a complainant. This payment was allegedly made to secure official favor in processing salary bills and reinstating 23 outsourced employees previously removed from the institution.
The ACB asserts that the officers engaged in misconduct for personal gain. The bribe money was found at the AO's office table, and further investigations are ongoing.
